FAQ
What should we wear?
Ah! I'm so glad you asked. I LOVE picking out wardrobes for pictures. Here's my advice. Don't go too matchy matchy! All jeans + white shirts is not what we're going for here... hate to break it to ya!
Start with a colorful pattern (dress, dress shirt, scarf, etc) -yes, PATTERN, with a color palette that you like. For the rest of the family, stick with colors that are in that palette, or close to it. Too many patterns is a bit busy, but a large stripe, teeny floral, a couple solids- that's perfect! Then start layering... a jean jacket, chunky jewelry, vests... jeans or khakis, or mix them up. There aren't many rules... check out some of the photos from my portfolio- my clients have great style!
How long will it take to get our photos?
You will receive an online gallery link with all of your photos in about 4 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your session). If the images are included I will send you an email with a link to download your images. You will also be able to share your proof gallery with friends and family, choose your favorites, and also order prints and wall art!
(wedding timeline is a bit longer, 4-6 weeks, due the higher volume of images)
I'm really awkward in photos... will you tell me what to do?
Love to! I'm not one to mince words... if you're standing like a goofball I'm going to either kindly reposition you or tell ya straight up! (and then reposition you) It's pretty clear at the start of a session whether someone is loving posing for the camera or just feeling totally out of their skin. If it's the latter, I'll jump in (like apologize one time for being bossy) and tell you exactly where/how to move and look! It's my job!
What if it rains!?
Have no fear! I've seen it all... Northwest Ohio weather is crazy. Even dumb sometimes. I've found that worrying about the weather more than 2 days in advance is not worth the stress! Being married to a farmer who lives and breathes by the weather.com app, I am typically very aware of possible inclement weather and very flexible when it comes to changing locations or finding a different date (with better weather!)
If we do find ourselves with a rainy day I have a few outdoor/covered locations that work well, and I'm not opposed to getting a little wet and doing a session in the rain (or even better, SNOW!)
If the weather is looking gross I'll be in touch (or you can message me, too) and we can come up with a backup plan. Seems like most of the time the rain blows over and we are able to go ahead as planned!
How many pictures will we receive?
It depends what type of session you are getting, but in most cases you will get between 75-100 images... it's sometimes hard for me to narrow it down, and I LOVE to include the hilarious outtakes! Sometimes those unposed shots end up being the favorites.
Seniors and newborns include a few more- closer to 100+ and mini sessions you'll get to pick your favorites from about 30-40+ images.
For weddings, since there is typically 8+ hours of coverage, I like to deliver a gallery of around 800-1000 images. I like to capture every detail of your special day and that really reflects in the size of your gallery!
Where are you based and do you travel?
I live and work out of Stryker, Ohio
I'm from the eastern part of the state and
we LOVE to travel! Destination wedding? We're there! ;)
I make my way east to the Wayne County, Ohio area a couple times a year to do photo sessions there. Since room/board/childcare is free (thanks Mom & Dad!) I don't typically charge traveling fees for that destination, but in most cases, anywhere further than about 30 minutes from home (Stryker) I need to cover my costs. I try to keep the fees as minimal as possible because I want to be affordable and I know how extra charges start to add up!
If you're curious about travel costs/destinations, email me! I'd love to answer any questions you may have.
